I'm Sam, and I can't wait to work with you!

I am a mother of three wild kiddos; Max, Luna and Fiona. I am married to my high school sweetheart and we moved to San Francisco from our hometown in New York almost ten years ago.

 

My love for photography started as a child. My dad would mail me disposable cameras weekly and I was fascinated with capturing moments. I was hooked. I spent my childhood and teens behind the lens, experimenting and teaching myself. For as long as I can remember, photography has defined who I am. I have had the pleasure of studying photography at schools such as SVA and AAU and have worked under so many wonderful professionals until I started my own business in 2015.

I have found that people are by far my favorite subject. I love photographing authentic moments and emotions. I love capturing the moments in-between, the ones that may have otherwise been missed. From years of wedding photography I have developed a signature lifestyle way of shooting, capturing true love and emotion in a candid and casual way. I use only natural light and let it guide the way when I am shooting. I and am inspired by film photography and even in my digital work I recreate the same tones and mood found with film. 

 

 After I had my son and creating a family of my own, I have found a strong passion for family and newborn photography. Nothing is better than spending the day getting to know families and capturing the candid fun moments that show so much heart and personality. Rather than sticking to posed shots I encourage you to be yourselves, snuggle, play and I'll take care of the rest. Kids grow so fast and are constantly changing, I love capturing these fleeting moments, the tiny milestones you don't ever want to forget. I love being invited into a family's home or taken to their favorite place and capturing them just be themselves.

Photography is who I am, how I communicate and I love sharing it with people. I love that photography has brought me to so many places and allowed me to meet so many amazing people.
